Designing a New Onboarding Experience
Objective
Create a simple yet effective onboarding experience for a new product, ensuring that users could easily understand its features while allowing the product to adapt to their needs from the start.
Implementation
- Combined the account creation process with a brief survey to streamline onboarding and gather initial user preferences.
- Guided users through creating their first bot and previewing how it works, providing immediate hands-on experience.
- Introduced the user to a personalized bot, created based on user's survey response, with an option to start using it right away.
Designing a New Way to Recycle
Problem
Modern recycling is complex. Users often struggle to identify which materials are truly recyclable in their local area, leading to increased waste contamination.
Solution
- Developed "Deplastified," an app that uses camera technology to instantly identify and categorize waste materials for users.
- Created a personalized onboarding flow that adjusts recycling tips based on the user's specific lifestyle and location.
- Integrated a resource hub to educate users on the long-term impact of plastic waste and proper disposal methods.
Building a Digital Foundation for Policy Research
Problem
The USF Policy Lab initially lacked any distinct digital presence or brand identity. Beyond a basic mission statement and a faculty list, there was no cohesive visual language or organized platform to showcase their work.
Solution
I contributed to the project in two phases:
- Branding team: Co-created the Lab's visual identity, developing custom logo variations and a professional color palette that established a sense of authority and academic excellence.
- Website team: Co-designed the Lab's website layout.
Ideation, Design, & Custom Implementation
Problem
When shopping for souvenirs for a long list of family and friends, I found a complete lack of reliable guides on social media. Existing content on TikTok and Instagram was either too tourist-heavy or focused on luxury, making it difficult to find high-quality, budget-friendly streets for authentic gift-shopping.
Solution
- Created a blog where I reviewed streets that offered a variety of souvenirs suitable for family members and friends.
- Built a multi-page HTML/CSS site from scratch to organize reviews into a more permanent, searchable resource than a fleeting social post.
- Developed a brand identity inspired by Parisian street signs to evoke the feeling of "walking the city" while shopping.
Digital Ethnography
Objective
In a world of highly polished and aesthetic social media, the real ways we interact with our screens are often hidden. My goal was to create a digital archive that captures the raw, functional, and uncurated reality of my daily technology use
Implementation
- I developed a "Wildflower" aesthetic using soft creams, deep reds, and polka dots to give the tech-heavy content a more organic and personal feel.
- Built a custom "Feed" page that holds 12 different entries, making sure it was easy to scroll through everything chronologically.
Small Projects & Coursework
The Objective
A collection of foundational design projects focused on mastering the core principles of UX/UI, visual communication, and digital brand identity through academic coursework.
Key Learnings
- Visual Hierarchy: Designing postcards that balances imagery with clear, readable typography.
- Design Principles: Applying concepts like contrast, alignment, and proximity to create cohesive and professional layouts.
